Part Time HR Generalist
Texas-Based Remote

OVERVIEW

Ministry HR Group is a Texas-based HR Consulting firm focusing on providing Biblical, inviting HR solutions for Christian organizations. Our vision is to Be Christ in the workplace, and to Protect Christ in the workplace.

 

We are seeking a Texas-based Part Time Remote HR Generalist to work with our clients - Christian nonprofits, churches, mission organizations and Christian for-profits.  You would be an implementer and communicator of Human Resources Programs, from a Biblical standpoint. The job will report to the Fractional VP of HR and supports our Christian clients with their people strategy and programs. The HR Generalist tracks projects, implements systems and creates materials to support the clients. We support all areas of Human Resources for our clients, including recruiting, selection, hiring, onboarding, compensation, benefits, training and development, performance management, manager and employee engagement, policies and compliance, Christian ministry guidance, systems implementation, and more. The Part Time HR Generalist balances many areas to be successful: warmth within guidelines; ministry within government laws; truth and kindness; time, quality and cost; and client needs with best practices.

 

Please note that this position is part time, non-exempt, hourly, and remote.  The Part Time HR Generalist works Monday through Friday, 15-20 hours per week during the core hours of 9am-4pm CT.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
 

Required:
•    A minimum of 2 years in HR Administration
•    A minimum of 2 years of HR at a Christian ministry 
•    A degree in Human Resources, or equivalent HR experience
•    Ability to hold a current US-based Professional HR certification within 2 years of start date (SHRM or HRCI preferred)
•    Proven ability to support a wide variety of HR programs
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Desire and ability to learn new ways of addressing HR issues
•    Proven ability to prioritize and manage a diverse set of projects and tight timelines
•    Ability to consistently provide high quality, detailed and accurate work product
•    High proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
•    Ability to demonstrate positive and professional behavior in every situation
•    Ability to connect HR concepts with appropriate Biblical references in HR coaching, materials and communication
•    Ability to provide and support a Christian, Biblical perspective on employment situations
•    Ability to consistently maintain a Professional Remote Office
•    Must maintain a home address in the state of Texas


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Support the following HR Consulting processes while actively participating in consulting meetings and projects

  • Support the HR Director in HR strategy, programs and compliance for clients

  • Support the clients’ ability to do Christian ministry by strengthening their system of faith-based tenets and adherence to the same

  • Support the implementation of full-suite, start-to-finish HR Programs: 

 

  • Recruiting, Hiring, Onboarding

  • Compensation & Benefits

  • Training and Development

  • Performance Management

  • Manager and employee engagement

  • Policies and compliance

  • Christian ministry guidance

  • HRIS implementation

 

  • Project Manage the client workload 

  • Create a safe space for our client’s employees to report concerns, ask questions and receive coaching from a Christian perspective

  • Always be learning, innovating, creating, and reaching for new ways to engage people in the client mission

  • Provide in-house support to other Ministry HR Group team members

    • Support the development of the Ministry HR Group centralized HR Toolkit 

    • Actively participate in Ministry HR Group meetings and community 

    • Provide a positive and professional representation of Ministry HR Group with prospective clients as needed

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Travel to Ministry HR Group and client events up to 3 times per year. Travel will be very limited, as we focus on a remote work setting.

  • Manage or perform special HR projects as needed.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
 

  • Deskwork and operation of a laptop, keyboard & mouse for up to 5 hours per day

  • See and proofread fine details on a screen; see and analyze color; see and recognize facial expressions and body language

  • Speak, hear and communicate in meetings for up to 3 hours in one day

  • Focus on extremely confidential, sensitive and emotional issues for several hours at a time

  • Focus and analyze large spreadsheets, databases and reports of complex data for up to 3 hours at a time

  • Maintain calm, focused and objective demeanor in stressful situations for up to 3 hours per day
